Candle Making Course Fees in India: 2026 Guide

Table of contents

Search for candle making course fees in India and the numbers refuse to line up. One listing says a few hundred rupees an hour, another says a few thousand for a day, a third says nothing until you message them.

The prices are not inconsistent. They are quoting for completely different things.

Candle making classes in India cost anywhere from about ₹750 an hour for a private tutor to ₹1,999 for a one-off studio workshop and ₹4,499 to ₹9,999 for a structured one-to-one course. Pick by what you want to be able to do afterwards, not by the lowest number.

What the fee actually covers

Tutor marketplaces quote by the hour. UrbanPro's Delhi listings average around ₹750 an hour, with individual tutors asking anywhere from ₹300 to ₹10,000.

Hourly rates look small until you count the hours. Eight sessions at ₹750 is ₹6,000, before materials, and the sessions are only as structured as the tutor makes them.

Format What you pay What it is good for
Private tutor, by the hour About ₹750 an hour in Delhi Fixing one specific problem
Mikaya studio workshop ₹1,999, materials included Finding out if you enjoy it
Mikaya Candle Making Course ₹4,499, or ₹6,499 with kit Learning the craft properly
Mikaya Business Masterclass ₹7,999, or ₹9,999 with kit Selling home fragrance
Cheap online prices

You will also see recorded courses and short Zoom workshops advertised near ₹999. Some are good starters. We have not verified individual listings, so check the hours, whether materials are included and who answers your questions.

Just curious? Start with a workshop

If you are not sure candle making is for you, do not buy a course. Pour one candle first.

Our candle making workshops run in the Mikaya home studio in Moti Nagar. In about 90 minutes, in a group of four to six, you blend a fragrance, pour your own candle and take it home. All materials are included and no experience is needed.

At ₹1,999 it costs more than a recorded tutorial, because you leave with a finished candle and someone to ask in person. If you love it, the course is the natural next step.

Want the craft? Pay for live teaching

The Mikaya Candle Making Course is one-to-one: three live sessions, seven modules, and a dedicated troubleshooting session. It covers jar, moulded, tea light and taper candles, plus wax melts, wax tablets and sachets.

You get recordings, written recipes, a supplier directory, a certificate and six months of support. The fee is ₹4,499 without the kit and ₹6,499 with the materials kit.

Why troubleshooting is the part worth paying for

Pouring one good candle is easy. Understanding why the next one frosted, tunnelled or smelled faint is the actual skill.

Wax, fragrance load, wick, vessel and pouring temperature all interact. Our fragrance load runs 7 to 10% depending on the scent and wax, and changing any one variable shifts the result.

A course that watches your process and explains the cause saves you weeks of wasted wax. Our guide to candle problems covers the most common faults.

Selling candles? Look past candles

If the plan is a business, a candle-only course leaves gaps: costing, sourcing, packaging and the other formats customers ask for.

The Home Fragrance Business Masterclass is one-to-one across three live sessions and twelve modules. It covers 15+ product types, pricing and costing, GST, Udyam and trademark basics, online store setup, and using Google tools and AI. Fees are ₹7,999, or ₹9,999 with the kit.

Which candle course fits you and your budget?

Three quick questions. You get a pick, a fee, and a link to book it.

What do you want from candle making?

Five questions to ask before you pay

  1. How many hours are live? Recorded hours do not answer your questions.
  2. Will you make the product yourself? Watching is not the same as pouring.
  3. Are materials included? Otherwise add their cost to the fee.
  4. Is troubleshooting covered? Ask what happens when your candle frosts.
  5. Is there support afterwards? Your first solo batches raise the real questions.

Do you need a course at all?

No. Plenty of makers learn from books, videos and a lot of wasted wax.

Outside Delhi the picture is similar: UrbanPro's Bangalore tutors typically ask ₹600 to ₹1,000 an hour.

A course buys you speed. Someone who has already tested the variables tells you what to test, so you stop guessing. You still test your own wax, wicks and vessels, and you can source them from our candle making supplies.

The short version

Curious: try a ₹1,999 workshop. Serious about the craft: a live one-to-one course. Planning to sell: a business programme. Compare hours, materials and support, not just the headline fee.
