The outcome

What you'll be able to make

Not one recipe. Every major home fragrance product format is taught in full, covering materials, ratios, temperatures and troubleshooting, then worked through in the practical session, so you can make each one yourself and bring what goes wrong to the doubt session.

Jar candles made in the Mikaya home fragrance masterclass

Jar candles

Wick sizing, full melt pool, clean burn and proper scent throw.

Pillar & taper candles made in the Mikaya home fragrance masterclass

Pillar & taper candles

Beeswax pillars and hand-threaded tapers.

Sculptural & specialty made in the Mikaya home fragrance masterclass

Sculptural & specialty

Moulded and sculptural forms. The peony is made in a dual effect.

Wax melts made in the Mikaya home fragrance masterclass

Wax melts

Clamshell, scoopable and moulded formats.

Wax tablets & sachets made in the Mikaya home fragrance masterclass

Wax tablets & sachets

Flameless wardrobe and room fragrance.

Reed & car diffusers made in the Mikaya home fragrance masterclass

Reed & car diffusers

Reed blending, ratios and 60–90 day performance.

Room sprays are covered in the theory session too: carrier, alcohol ratio, fragrance load, and why they behave differently from wax.

The difference

Most courses teach only candles. This one teaches all home fragrance products.

Candles are one format out of six. A maker who only knows candles has one thing to sell.

The craft

What you'll learn to do

Work in every format

Six product families, not one. Each with its own wax, load and cure.

  • Candles
  • Wax melts
  • Wax tablets
  • Sachets
  • Reed & car diffusers
  • Room sprays

Colour it properly

Every technique comes down to one thing: how far the last layer set before the next went in.

  • Ombre
  • Marble
  • Swirl
  • Colour block
  • Diagonal
  • Dual effect
  • Mica sheen

Blend from scratch

Build an original fragrance, document it, and reproduce it exactly next time.

Fix what goes wrong

Recognise a fault on sight and know its cause, instead of losing the batch.

The format

Three live sessions, at your pace

All one-to-one, on video. You set the dates, including the gap before the doubt session, which happens when you've had time to practise.

Before we start

Your kit arrives

₹3,500+ worth of materials & tools

Couriered after booking, or handed over on the day if you are attending in person in Delhi. Everything you need is in the box, including the scale, thermometer and heat gun, which are yours to keep.

Session One

Theory

2+ hours, live 1:1

Waxes, fragrance, wicks, ratios, temperatures and formulation. You finish understanding why each step happens, before you touch hot wax.

Session Two

Practical

3+ hours, hands-on

You make alongside Bhumika: candles, melts, tablets, sachets and diffusers, working through the formats live, at your own pace, every question answered as it comes.

Then

You practise alone

Call or WhatsApp us any time

Remake each product with your manual and the rest of your kit. This is where the real learning happens, and where the useful questions appear.

Session Three

Doubt & troubleshooting

Live, once you've practised

Bring your results and your failures. We troubleshoot on screen, fine-tune technique and ratios, and make sure you can make confidently on your own.

After

Six months of support

Call & WhatsApp

The sessions end; the guidance doesn't. Reach us with questions as you make your first independent batches, for six months.

Who teaches it

Bhumika Sadana, founder of Mikaya India and masterclass instructor

Bhumika Sadana · Founder, Mikaya India

A year of getting it wrong, so you don't have to.

Bhumika left a career in investment banking to build Mikaya. What came next was not a business. It was a year of research: sourcing wax, testing fragrance oils, rejecting most of it and starting again.

And a year spent learning why things fail. Why a candle tunnels. Why a beautiful pour frosts overnight. Why a wax tablet that fills a wardrobe reads as unscented in a living room. None of that is in a recipe. It is in the science underneath, and it is what took the longest to learn.

Every product on mikayaindia.com is formulated, tested and made by her. Over two thousand units have been made, packed and sold, all within a year.

That year is what you are buying. Not a recipe, but the twelve months it took to work out which recipe was worth having.

“I didn't leave finance to teach theory. I teach exactly what I make.”

The syllabus

Nine modules

Each one follows the same professional flow: raw materials → formulation → manufacturing → testing → troubleshooting → finishing.

  • The product universe and how each format works
  • Raw materials: waxes, fragrance and essential oils, bases, additives, botanicals
  • Tools and equipment: what you need and what you don’t
  • Measuring by weight, and why we never work by volume
  • Temperature control, the single most critical variable
  • Safety: hot wax, ventilation, flash points, PPE
  • Fragrance oils vs. essential oils: performance, safety, cost
  • Top, middle and base notes and how they interact
  • Hot throw, cold throw and passive diffusion
  • Fragrance load: calculation and variation by product
  • Flash points and why they differ per format
  • Building, testing and documenting an original blend
  • Soy, coconut, beeswax and their blends
  • Why natural wax only: no paraffin, no gel
  • Melt point, fragrance binding, adhesion, colour payoff, structure
  • Choosing the right wax per product
  • Additives: dyes, micas, botanicals, embeds
  • Frosting, wet spots, sinkholes, cracking, sweating, and their fixes
  • Wick science: cotton vs. wood, sizing to vessel, the 4-burn test protocol
  • Container candles: full melt pool, scent throw, tunnelling fixes
  • Pillar and taper candles: pillar-grade wax, double-pour, demoulding
  • Sculptural candles: complex moulds, bubble management, surface finish
  • Colour: marble, ombre, colour-block, swirl, natural pigments
  • Specialty: whipped, baked, succulent, botanical, layered, sand wax
  • How melts work and why fragrance load runs higher
  • Clamshell: pour technique, fill level, achieving a clean snap
  • Scoopable: crumbly vs. whipped texture, jarring and presentation
  • Shaped and moulded: silicone selection, two-tone and ombre layering
  • Troubleshooting brittleness, weak throw, colour bleed and bloom
  • How tablets release scent without heat, and realistic longevity
  • Harder wax blends for structure
  • load for cold diffusion
  • Silicone sheets, cavity and decorative moulds
  • layered pours
  • Botanical embedding: placement, air traps, avoiding browning
  • Hanging hardware, surface polishing, sleeves and hang tags
  • Capillary action and the bases compared (DPG, IPM, coconut)
  • Reed types, fragrance selection, base-to-fragrance ratio
  • Vessel selection and the 48-hour evaluation
  • Making a diffuser last 60–90 days
  • Car diffusers: felt saturation, controlled release, longevity in heat
  • Room sprays: alcohol base, fragrance load, and why they read differently from wax
  • Product-specific packaging for every format
  • Label essentials: name, ingredients, weight, batch number, warnings
  • Label materials: paper, vinyl and waterproof, and when to use each
  • Building a gift set
  • low-budget premium packaging
  • Phone product photography: light, surface, angles
  • Quality benchmarks per product: burn, throw, appearance, longevity
  • Batch records and iteration logs: what to log and why
  • Storage and shelf life for materials and finished stock
  • Scaling from one unit to a batch of twenty
  • A sourcing directory of named Indian suppliers, with MOQ guidance

What students say

Booked a 1:1 home fragrance session with Mikaya and I honestly didn’t expect it to be this detailed. We had a proper theory session first and then spent 3+ hours actually making products. They also provide the raw materials, so I didn’t have to arrange everything separately. What I liked most was that even after the sessions, I can message them on WhatsApp or call whenever I get stuck.
Simran · Delhi
I was looking for something more practical than just a basic candle-making workshop and Mikaya’s masterclass was exactly that. The theory session covered all the basics and the practical was very hands-on. They also give a vendor list and all the raw materials needed for the sessions, which made things much easier.
Aditi · Gurgaon
What I really liked is that the support doesn’t just end after the class. We had a detailed theory session, a long practical session and then a separate doubt session where we could troubleshoot our issues. I’ve already reached out on WhatsApp and got a response almost instantly.
Rhea · Mumbai
Really happy with the Mikaya masterclass. The practical session was my favourite and I liked that they gave all the raw materials and vendor details too. Very helpful overall.
Pooja · Bangalore
Loved the 1:1 session with Mikaya. Everything was explained really well and I could ask as many doubts as I wanted. The support even after the class is honestly a big plus.
