Beeswax or a scented candle?
Choose beeswax when you want a plain, warm glow: tapers for a dinner table, pillars for a shelf or puja corner, sculptural candles as decor. There is no added fragrance, only the wax's faint honey note. Choose a scented candle when fragrance is the point. Our scented jar candles are hand-poured in a natural soy and coconut wax blend with IFRA-compliant fragrance oil. The two work well together: beeswax on the table, a scented jar in the room.
Lighting and caring for beeswax candles
- Trim the wick to about 6 mm (a quarter inch) before each lighting.
- Burn on a level, heat-resistant surface, and set tapers firmly in a holder. The Pedestal Flute has its own base.
- Keep candles away from drafts, flammable materials, children and pets, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Store them somewhere cool, out of direct sun.
Frequently asked questions
Are Mikaya beeswax candles scented?
No. There is no added fragrance. Pure beeswax gives a faint natural honey note of its own.
What are they made of?
Organic beeswax, hand-poured in small batches.
How long do beeswax candles burn?
It depends on the shape: tapers burn 4 to 15 hours each, pillars 10 to 20 hours and sculptural candles 8 to 20 hours. Each product page lists its own burn time.
Do taper candles need a holder?
Most tapers fit standard taper holders. The Pedestal Flute has its own base and stands on its own.
Why choose beeswax over other candle wax?
Beeswax gives a warm, steady glow with no added fragrance, and burns slowly.
Are these suitable for Diwali and puja?
Yes. Many of these shapes are made for festive tables and puja corners, and the natural golden colour needs no styling.
